Ubuntu Software Centre now supports Paypal payments

You can now buy commercial apps, ebooks and magazines from Ubuntu Software Centre using the Paypal account.

Canonical has previously supported credit and debit card payments in the Software centre. Users have made frequent requests to add paypal payment gateway to the Ubuntu Software Centre for the benefit of those who do not have credit/debit cards.  It is “a frequently-requested option by users who don’t have credit/debit cards or who get charged conversion fees by their bank for non-local currency transactions“, Stuart Metcalfe, Canonical ISD manager said in the developer portal of Ubuntu.

The paypal option has now made easy for users to purchase commercial apps with ease. The new payment option also ensures more profit for the app developers. It will help attract more app developers to Ubuntu platform.
